A portion of proceeds from this year's festival goes to the Conway County School Counts! Initiative, so come on out and Pig Out!
July 4 is coming up, and there's no better time to receive a boating education certification for FREE! The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will conduct a Boating Education Course at UACCM's Leadership Development Institute on Tuesday, June 29 and Wednesday, June 30. The two evening course is being offered free of charge to the public. Class will be held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. each evening at the Leadership Development Institute, located at 115 East Broadway in downtown Morrilton.

The Arkansas Boating Education Course will teach the fundamentals of safe and responsible boating which is necessary to reduce loss of life, personal injury and property damage while increasing boating enjoyment for outdoor enthusiasts. Anyone born on or after January 1, 1986, and of legal age to operate a motorboat, must have successfully completed an approved Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Boating Education Course and carry proof while operating a motorboat on Arkansas water. The law also affects operators of sailboats.

Upon completion of the two evening class, participants will take a final examination. The class is recommended for individuals 11 years of age and older. Class size is limited and registration is required. Contact Janie Wagner at (501) 977-2078 or at wagner@uaccm.edu to reserve a space in the class. Additional information concerning the Boating Education Program is available on the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission web site at www.agfc.com.
