Kid's College 2010 Registration Now Open

Attention area kids and parents! Registration for the 2010 Kid’s College at UACCM is now open. This year, Kid’s College will teach area first through third graders how to say “G’day mate” and “Yee-haw!” by exploring the culture, sights and sounds of the faraway land of Australia and the Great Barrie Reef as well as the rough-and-rowdy Wild West. The fun-filled week is scheduled for July 12 through 16, 2010.

During Kid’s College, students will attend class each day from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Business Technology Center on campus at UACCM. Throughout this time, they will learn all about aquatic life surrounding the Great Barrier Reef as well as the people of Australia before discovering life in the American West between the years of 1850 and 1920. Kid’s College will also feature many hands-on activities, games, scientific investigations and art projects designed to enhance math and science skills among the children.

The fee for Kid’s College 2010 will be $50 per student. Children must be entering first through third grades in fall 2010 to be eligible to attend. Kid’s College is only open to 40 participants, and spaces are filling quickly. A registration form is available at www.uaccm.edu under the “News” section. Registration forms and payment must be returned to: UACCM Community Outreach, Leadership Development Institute, 115 East Broadway, Morrilton, AR 72110. Checks should be made payable to the UACCM Foundation. For more information, contact Janie Wagner at (501) 977-2078 or e-mail wagner@uaccm.edu.
