Find out how to help heal the world tomorrow

Have you ever felt the urge to help those in need through a mission trip? St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Conway is sponsoring a March 2010 medical mission to Guatemala in Central America to serve the medical needs of the Mayan community over the course of 10 days. An informational session for anyone interested in participating will be held tomorrow at 12:10 pm in Room 214 of the University Center.

During the mission trip, participants will travel to Boca Costa de Solala Medical Clinic in Southwestern Guatemala, where a shortage of medical supplies and medical professionals has led to the highest levels of infant and maternal mortality rates in the country. Medical professionals as well as general volunteers are encouraged to participate in the mission trip. UACCM is also currently accepting bottles of vitamins which will be sent to Guatemala and distributed during the mission trip. If you are interested in donating to this cause, contact Tina Lake at lake@uaccm.edu or at (501) 977-2076.

For more information on how you can get involved with the mission trip, contact Marianne at welch851@aol.com.
