UACCM Grad Promotes Scholastic Honors at the Governor's Mansion

Check out the following newspaper article about a recent UACCM grad:

Andrea Hoelzeman, a recent UACCM graduate, participated in the 2009 Scholastic Honors Day at the Governor’s Mansion in Little Rock. This day was set aside to honor valedictorians from Arkansas high schools, and Hoelzeman was among several student ambassadors selected from two and four-year colleges throughout the state to assist with the event. During the event, the ambassadors visited with the honored students and their families and fielded questions about why they chose to go to their college and their overall experiences as college students. Hoelzeman said, “It was nice to help give the students a better idea of what to expect in college and to let parents know more about what they should be prepared for as their children begin their higher education journey.”

Hoelzeman graduated from UACCM in May 2009 with an Associate of Arts Degree in General Education. She is currently attending Arkansas Tech University in pursuit of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education. She added “It was an honor to meet Governor Beebe and be a part of Scholastic Honors Day. Hopefully, it will help tomorrow’s college students be better prepared for what lies ahead for them.”

Good job, Andrea! Way to represent UACCM!
