Fayetteville Shale Expo a Success

The First Fayetteville Shale Expo was held Friday and Saturday, May 30 and 31, 2008 on campus at the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton. The expo, sponsored by the College and the Conway County Economic Development Corporation, featured members of several key companies involved in the development of the Fayetteville Shale Play and allowed several hundred guests and UACCM students to discover the latest technology, equipment, services and job opportunities in the Fayetteville Shale.

The expo was the first event of its kind in the region with several large companies including Southwestern Energy, Seeco, Chesapeake Energy, Schlumberger, Petrohawk, Key Energy, Champion Technologies, T3 Energy Services, Impact Energy, Speedy Heavy Hauling, Environmental Solutions Services, Summit Crane and Drilling, HVC International, and others present. Many of the companies present brought large pieces of equipment as well as indoor booths for public display. Lunch on Saturday was provided for guests by First State Bank of Morrilton.
UACCM Petroleum Technology Instructor Jeff Lambert described the event as a success. “We were extremely pleased to have such an extensive and diverse group of companies on campus for the Fayetteville Shale Expo. We anticipate making it an annual event to show the public the continued developments in the Fayetteville Shale.”

Summit Crane brought this piece of equipment from Colorado for the
 outdoor exhibition.
