Practical Nursing Program Granted Full Approval

The practical nursing program at the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton was granted full approval by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing on Wednesday, January 16. The approval was presented to Thomas Flowers, UACCM Vice Chancellor of Academic Services, Marilyn Thomas, Division Chair of Health Sciences and Adult Education, and Peggy Lee, UACCM Nursing Department Chair.
The approval was awarded to UACCM for a period of five years. Approval was contingent upon passing a recent site visit critiquing every aspect of the program. The program received no deficiencies. The student program guide, faculty program guide, and current curriculum all received a rating of excellent, with all other areas inspected receiving a rating of good.
Peggy Lee, UACCM Nursing Department Chair, said “the nursing faculty worked as a team to move the nursing program forward, and these diligent efforts were recognized by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing when we received the excellent report.” She added that “many of the documents required during the site visit were developed from the ground up on campus and have set our nursing program in line for future expansion and excellence.”
