UACCM Art Students Place First
Two students enrolled in the art program at the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton recently took first place honors for their artwork at local fairs.
Jennifer Kay (right) of Bee Branch took the first place prize for her charcoal piece titled “Study after Picasso” at the Van Buren County Fair. Kay is in her first semester at UACCM. After graduating, she plans to attend a four-year university to complete a bachelor’s degree in art education.
Callie Latimer (left) of Center Ridge also received a first place award for her graphite-drawing “Homage to Mantegna” at the Conway County Fair. Latimer is a graduate of Hendrix College with a bachelor’s degree in education, and upon graduation from UACCM, she plans to become an art teacher.
