Hickerson Receives Kevin Majors Scholarship

Caleb Hickerson of Dover has been awarded the Kevin Majors Memorial Scholarship at the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton. Hickerson is a student in the automotive collision repair technology department at UACCM.
The Kevin Majors Memorial Scholarship was established by the family of the late Kevin Majors. Majors’ mother expressed that it was the family’s wish that the scholarship be aimed toward students enrolled in the areas of air conditioning and refrigeration, automotive collision repair, automotive technology, or welding.
After completing his associate of applied science degree in automotive collision repair, Hickerson plans to enter the collision repair field locally.
Eligibility requirements for the $300 per semester award include: completion of one semester at UACCM in an applied technology program; a minimum 2.0 grade point average; recommendation from a technology instructor; and interview by the UACCM Scholarship Committee. The scholarship is renewable provided the recipient maintains a 2.0 grade point average and enrolls in at least nine credit hours per semester.
