UACCM Foundation Fundraiser Set For November 2

The fifth annual Just Desserts fundraiser for the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton Foundation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, in the UACCM Plaza and adjoining courtyard.Just Desserts will feature all-you-can-eat desserts donated by area bakeries and restaurants, as well as UACCM faculty, staff, and Foundation Board members. There will also be a gourmet coffee bar, a sugar-free dessert bar, and a table of savory snacks including  meat and cheese trays, assorted crackers and other appetizers.

There will be live and silent auctions featuring items donated by businesses and individuals. UACCM Foundation Board member Les Miller will serve as the evening’s auctioneer.


Regional jazz band MJ-4 will provide the entertainment. Door prizes will be awarded every half hour, and remaining uncut desserts will be auctioned off by Miller at 7:45 p.m.

Just Dessert event sponsors include “Chancellor’s Club” sponsor ($500-$999 level) Mobley Construction and Ambassador’s Club”sponsors ($250-$499 level) Arkansas Valley Wholesale, First Arkansas Valley Bank, First Electric Cooperative of Perryville, Koontz Electric, Morrilton Packing, Petit Jean State Bank, Regions Bank, TME, Inc., US Bank, Virco Manufacturing, and Wayne Smith Trucking.

Proceeds from this year’s event will be applied toward the construction of a pavilion that will be utilized by UACCM students and the community. During the past four years, the event has raised over $18,000 resulting in the purchases of a baby grand piano, audio and video equipment for the Fine Arts Auditorium, and a large outdoor tent for special events.

 The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton Foundation is a private, non-profit corporation whose purpose is to raise and manage funds for the sole benefit of the College. The Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation, which makes such contributions from businesses and individuals tax-deductible within the limits of the law. The Foundation conducts fundraising activities in order to permit UACCM to accomplish projects or purchase items that cannot be done with available state operating funds.

Tickets are $7.00 for adults, $3.00 for ages six to twelve, and free for children five and under. Advance tickets are available by calling the UACCM Academic Services Office at (501) 977-2007. Tickets will also be sold at the door.
