Hundreds Attend TXD Services Information Session

Over 600 people packed into the Fine Arts Building at the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton on Thursday, August 17 to gather information about possible careers with Morrilton’s newest industry, TXD Services, LP. In order to accommodate the overflowing crowd, college and company representatives made some last minute adjustments and decided to conduct two consecutive sessions. Even with the two sessions, the 266-seat Fine Arts Auditorium was standing room only during both events as individuals gathered to discover job opportunities available with the natural gas drilling and supply company that recently announced its move to Morrilton.
TXD Services  representatives Greg Pearce Sr. and Greg Pearce Jr. facilitated the session, which was conducted to provide information about careers, salaries, and work conditions. Guests learned detailed information about TXD operations, company plans for the future, and types of jobs available.
TXD will initially hire approximately 80 to 110 people, mostly for the positions of rig operators, drillers, truck drivers, and swampers (those who transport equipment and supplies). Greg Pearce Jr. stressed that TXD Services values characteristics such as strong work ethic, reliability, and dependability in its hiring of employees. Individuals were also reminded that the company strives to maintain a drug-free work environment and periodically conducts drug testing on employees. Pearce also noted that employees often work long hours, even during holidays.
TXD Services recently broke ground on a new facility located at the North Industrial Park in Morrilton. The company plans to install drilling rigs, an oilfield supply store, and a nitrogen plant.
UACCM Career Services Counselor Lily Kersh expressed her gratitude to those  in attendance who had to wait until the second session began. Kersh said she was very appreciative for everyone’s patience and understanding as modifications were made to the original schedule of events.
Individuals that desire employment with TXD Services should complete the following three steps: complete an Arkansas Workforce Center enrollment form available at 1515 E. North 9B in Morrilton; be drug free and willing to submit to regular and random drug testing, as well as background checks administered by the Arkansas Workforce Center; and complete an application and submit a resume (if required for the position).
TXD Services will conduct interviews in the UACCM Leadership Development Institute on Wednesday, August 30, and Thursday, August 31. The Leadership Development Institute is located on the far west side of the campus near the college’s walking trail. Missed appointments will not be rescheduled.
