Each year, art students from college campuses around the region, including the University of Central Arkansas, Arkansas Tech University, University of the Ozarks, and UACCM compete in this time-honored exhibition. The Juror for this year’s show was artist Patricia Lappin of Fort Smith. As this year’s grand champion, Caleb not only wins the Grand Prize cash award but also receives the honor of a one-man exhibition of his artwork in December of 2007.
UACCM has an online student art gallery that includes Caleb’s grand prize-winning self-portrait along with various works from other UACCM art students.
The Collegiate Art Exhibition runs through February at the Arkansas River Valley Arts Center located at 1001 East B Street just south of the Hughes Center in Russellville. There is no charge for admission to the Gallery. For more information about the Gallery’s hours, contact the ARV Arts Center at (479) 968-2452.
