UACCM to provide training in collaboration with new UCA Innovation Campus
The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM) has collaborated with the University of Central Arkansas (UCA) on a new 70,800 square foot Innovation Campus that will bolster workforce training in Central Arkansas for years to come.
“This collaboration will create much-needed new pathways for the citizens of the Central Arkansas and North Metro areas to access the type of training and education needed to be successful,” said UACCM Chancellor Lisa Willenberg.
She continued, “It will also provide the skilled workforce that the region’s businesses and industries, especially in the advanced manufacturing and engineering sectors, need.”
The University of Arkansas System also expressed the importance of this collaboration.
"The commitment by UCA and UACCM to combine their resources and educational programming through their partnership at the UCA Campus of Innovation will power the future workforce needs of central Arkansas and beyond in the critical areas of advanced manufacturing and engineering," said UA System Vice President for Strategic and Community College Partnerships Chris Thomason.
UA System President Jay B. Silveria stated, "In today's higher education landscape, creative partnerships are the path forward in finding ways to maximize resources to truly create meaningful impact within communities and regions. These are the fields that are driving change and meeting needs -- engineering, technology, health informatics and skilled trades -- and to be able to partner and combine expertise in all of these areas is a win for our students and for the state."
