JOHNSON CONTROLS RENEWS UACCM WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT GRANT

  The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM) received a $100,000 grant for the third year as part of the Johnson Controls Community College Partnership Program . This funding strengthens on-campus training and educational pathways for emerging leaders in the HVAC, digital, fire and security sectors. UACCM, in partnership with Johnson Controls, the global leader in smart, healthy and sustainable buildings, continues to invest strategically in closing the skilled trades gap. Governor Sanders Dedicates UACCM Nursing and Science Center

  The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM) hosted a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for its new Nursing and Science Center on Monday, with a keynote presentation from Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders.  Among those in attendance for the event were Morrilton Mayor Allen Lipsmeyer, Conway County Judge Jimmy Hart, UA Trustee Colonel Nate Todd, UA Trustee Chair Kelly Eichler, UA Trustees Kevin Crass and Judd Deere, Arkansas’ Chief Workforce Officer Mike Rogers, Commissioner of the Division of Higher Education Dr. Ken Warden, Sen. Breanne Davis, other area elected officials, and representatives of companies who have sponsored naming rights for facility spaces. Approximately 150 community members. also attended the celebration. Naming rights for labs and other rooms have been secured thus far by area businesses CHI-St. Vincent Morrilton, Petit Jean State Bank, Nabholz Construction, Centennial Bank, and Conway Regional Medical Center. “...

Juliana Linn named Ms. UACCM 2025

  Juliana Linn, 20, of Bee Branch was crowned Ms. UACCM 2025 after competing in the seventeenth annual UACCM Pageant on Saturday, November 1, at the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton’s Fine Arts Auditorium. Linn is the daughter of Travis and Kim Linn of Bee Branch. She is in her third semester, earning an Associate of Arts in General Education degree. Linn was awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the UACCM’s Chancellor’s Office, a bag of “Bourbon Brazil” coffee from Big Cuppa, an oil change from Jiffy Lube, a $25 gift certificate from Merle Norman, and a floral bouquet courtesy of Plummer’s Flowers and Gifts, all of Morrilton. In addition, she received a performance maintenance package from the National Trailer Source of Atkins. The first runner-up, Alexandria Thacker of Conway, was awarded a $500 scholarship from the UACCM Chancellor’s Office, a 5-quart oil change from Roberson Tire, and a $20 gift certificate from Merle Norman of Morrilton.
