UACCM SNO Creates Valentine's Cards for Local Residents

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM) Student Nursing Organization (SNO) has given back during Valentine's Day by creating Valentine's Day cards for those in local nursing and rehab facilities.

"I think this project helps remind our students that nursing is rooting in compassion," said UACCM Director of Practical Nursing and SNO Sponsor Angie Moore-Strickland. She continued, "It allows the students to practice the heart of nursing by simply spreading kindness, honoring dignity, and reminding every resident they are valued and never forgotten."

Lindsay Fort, a Level 2 Practical Nursing student, said, "It's important to make people smile and this project does that. One note can make someone's day."

This Valentine's Day tradition for SNO started in Spring 2022 and has been done every year since, seeing hundreds of cards go out to several residents from places such as Brookridge Cove in Morrilton, Superior in Conway, Legacy Heights in Russellville, and more.

"Our hope is that the Valentine cards lighten their heart and lets them know that they are loved and cared for," Fort said.
