Arkansas Asphalt Pavement Association/Lorie Harris Tudor Endowment Scholarship Established at UACCM

  The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM) has established the Arkansas Asphalt Pavement Association/Lorie Harris Tudor Endowment Scholarship.   The endowment is established by former Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) Director Lorie Tudor, along with the Arkansas Asphalt Pavement Association (AAPA), for non-credit workforce training programs, the first-ever endowed scholarship aimed at students in non-credit workforce programs.   “The Arkansas Asphalt Pavement Association/Lorie Harris Tudor Endowment Scholarship is the first of its kind at UACCM,” said UACCM Dean of Workforce Education and Training Dr. Jessica Allred.   “This is the first endowment earmarked for short-term training at UACCM and allows for additional support and opportunities for students,” Allred said.   Tudor presented a personal gift of $20,000, and the AAPA made a $5,000 contribution, making the endowment a total of $25,00...

UACCM Awards Over 1,000 Degrees

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM) held its Commencement Ceremony for the graduating class of 2024-2025 on Saturday. 730 students were awarded approximately 1,074 degrees from the institution.   Of the 730 graduates, 65% are first-generation students, 50% are graduating with a transfer degree to a four-year university, 40% are graduating with a professional or skilled trade, and the other 10% are graduating from a medical professions program, with plans of going straight into the workforce.   99 of the graduates were concurrently enrolled high school students, who graduated both high school and college at the same time.   10 different countries, four states, and 28 Arkansas counties were represented by the 2024-2025 UACCM graduating class.   “My wish for each of you is to serve and empower others in the same spirit of support UACCM strives to exemplify,” UACCM Chancellor Lisa Willenberg told the graduating class.   “As I look out, ...

Having recently completed the first five years as UACCM Chancellor, I felt a commitment to the campus community and constituents to share UACCM's progress that I hope you find relevant and meaningful. We commonly refer to UACCM as not only a Community College, but also the Community’s College. This has never been more true. There are so many exciting initiatives, projects, opportunities, and pride points from which we draw our energies. March Student of the Month: Jordan Buggs

Jordan is in his second semester of UACCM's Associate of Applied Science in Automotive Service Technology degree. When not in class, Jordan works as a Student Ambassador for the UACCM Admissions Office.  After graduation, Jordan plans on becoming a Master Automotive Technician and eventually owning his own shop.  Jordan says he always wanted to pursue a trade career and UACCM was the best fit for him because of the degree options, tuition, and proximity. Jordan says his favorite things about UACCM are the faculty and staff. "They are the most genuine people I have ever met" We asked Jordan if he had any advice for current and future Timberwolves, he said, "Ask for help around campus and you will receive guidance."

UACCM Sees Largest Spring Enrollment Since 2011

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM) has reported 2,086 students enrolled for Spring 2025. That is a 6.2% increase from Spring 2024, up a total of 121 students.  The increase in spring enrollment is the third consecutive spring of increased enrollment for UACCM and marks the highest spring enrollment in 14 years, dating back to Spring 2011, which saw an enrollment of 2,328.   “I remain humbled with the continued enrollment increases and I cannot thank our communities and families enough for choosing UACCM for its education needs,” said UACCM Chancellor Lisa Willenberg.  UACCM saw its largest growth for the spring semester in concurrent students, jumping 24% from last spring with a total of 783 concurrently enrolled students. UACCM AND GREEN BAY PACKAGING, INC. ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM) has entered a partnership with the Arkansas Kraft Division of Green Bay Packaging, Inc. (GBP-AKD), effective January 2025.   The agreement allows UACCM to assist in the administration, coordination, scheduling, advertising, and evaluation of the community-offered classes taught at the GBP-AKD Training Center located in Morrilton, Arkansas.     “The expansion of our partnership through this development related to the operations of the GBP-AKD Training Center may be one of the most significant achievements of my tenure as Chancellor,” said UACCM Chancellor Lisa Willenberg.   ...
