Back-to-School Week: 10 Days and Counting

For all you new and not-so-new people at UACCM, be on the lookout for the annual back-to-school week here on campus from August 31 to September 4. If you missed your vacation this summer, don't worry, because during this week, UACCM will be transformed into a Caribbean oasis as offices across campus do their best to replicate the islands of the Bahamas. Check out some of the great FREE things we have lined up for the week:

The annual Back-to-School Bahamas Bash is scheduled for Wednesday, September 2 from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm in the Plaza Courtyard. Stop by between classes and meet some new friends and enjoy some free stuff:

  • Free hot dogs, drinks, chips, and cookies
  • TONS of free prizes and giveaways (think Mp3 players, flash drives, etc.)
  • Horseshoes, volleyball, and more activities
  • Entertainment provided by the CIS Club
  • Booths sponsored by clubs/organizations and area businesses (free giveaways)
  • ARMY activities including basketball/football toss
  • Lots more!

SEE the Show or BE the Show

Imagine a world where volunteers fall asleep at the snap of his finger and will obey the most hilarious and ridiculous hypnotic suggestions...Michael C. Anthony is recognized as one of the most successful stage hypnotists in the world today and is bringing his hypnosis to UACCM on Thursday, September 3 at noon in the Fine Arts Auditorium. Campus Activities Magazine named him Campus Male Performer of the Year. Having hypnotized over 15,000 people, Michael C. Anthony has filled theaters throughout the United States and Internationally and continues to be one of the most sought after hypnotists in the world.

Don't miss this chance to be entertained beyond belief for FREE! You don't have to be hypnotized if you don't want, but you will definitely want to see all the crazy things your hypnotized friends do. His shows are usually standing room only, so be sure to drop by at least a few minutes early.

Starlight Cinema at UACCM is back with another free outdoor movie night will on Thursday, September 3 at approximately 7:45 pm in the Plaza Courtyard on campus. The movie featured will be 2009’s new Star Trek. Sudents, faculty, staff, and the community at large are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets and enjoy the movie under the stars free of charge! Drinks, popcorn, and candy will be available for purchase to help complete the atmosphere during this fun event. Come on out and watch Star Trek on our extra large movie screen before you can rent it!

Student Onboarding Due March 25

In preparation for Fall 2024 advising & registration, students should log into Workday and complete a series of tasks called Student Onboarding : Students should log in to Workday and complete these tasks:  Navigate to  myapps.microsoft.com  in a web browser.  Log in with your UACCM email and password when prompted. You may also be prompted to authenticate using an authenticator app or secure code.  A dashboard with multiple apps will display. Locate the blue app titled “Workday” and select it.  You are now logged into Workday!  Once logged in, you will do the Federal Student Aid Authorization and then complete My Tasks .  This will include such things editing your contact information (if necessary), editing your personal information (if necessary), adding My Friends and Family (emergency contact information), and other tasks. When entering your My Friends and Family information, you must select Emergency Contact as one of the relationship types or you will get an error message .

UACCM Eclipse Parking

  The following guidelines apply to any vehicles parked on the UACCM campus at 8:00 a.m. on Monday. FOR VISITORS VIEWING ECLIPSE:  Purchase an eclipse parking pass for $100 from the either of the tents located on University Boulevard  (🟧 on map). You are allowed to park anywhere in eclipse parking (blue on map). FOR STUDENTS VIEWING ECLIPSE:  You are allowed to park in eclipse parking (blue on map), free of charge. You must present a valid and current UACCM Student ID at either tent located on University Boulevard (🟧 on map). A UACCM campus parking pass is also required.  FOR STUDENTS CONDUCTING BUSINESS: You may park in the parking lot in front of the UC and BTC (pink on map). You must present a valid and current UACCM Student ID at either tent located on University Boulevard (🟧 on map). A UACCM campus parking pass is also required.

Get to know Miss UACCM 2023

  Earlier this month, Zaybrau Williams, from Dardanelle, was named Miss UACCM in the fifteenth annual Miss UACCM pageant.  Zaybrau was awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the UACCM’s Chancellor’s Office, a floral bouquet courtesy of Plummer’s Flowers and Gifts, Morrilton, and gifts cards from Elia’s Mexican Grill, Morrilton, and Red Barn Market, Conway. Get to know Miss UACCM 2023, Zaybrau Williams, a little more. Why did you choose UACCM? I chose UACCM because of the community size and the various opportunities that are available to me. From being raised in a small community, UACCM felt like home. Everyone is so helpful and welcoming, it made choosing UACCM so easy. What are your educational and career goals? I am majoring in General Education. Once I finish with my associate degree here at UACCM, I plan to attend the University of Arkansas Medical School (UAMS) to further my education in Sonography.
